Captain America is frozen in ice after successfully stopping a nuclear missile from hitting Washington in 1945. Years later, Bruce Banner is a military scientist charged on working with the now-unfrozen Cap to replicate the "super soldier serum" coursing through his veins. Agent Nick Fury gathers together other heroes to give Cap a purpose in his new life... only Thor, Iron Man, Giant-Man, Black Widow and Wasp can't seem to get any teamwork going amongst themselves. After an attack from aliens called the Chitauri, they all overcome their problems, promptly kicking their butt. However, Banner, in an attempt to control The Hulk inside him, uses the serum on himself. At first it creates a "smart" version of his inner monster, but gradually he slips into blind attack mode, hurting alien and hero alike.
