This documentary is an expansive exploration of our planet Earth, which has come to be known as the Blue Planet because of the blue waters that cover the Earth when viewed from space. The IMAX presentation comes from cameras mounted to the space shuttle and shows the Earth in all of its glory from the view of space. Things such as the atmosphere of neighboring planets are explored, along with dazzling sights such as the Golden Gate Bridge after the 1989 earthquake, or sea creatures living among the volcanic activity occurring in the Gulf of Aqaba. Lastly the documentary explores man's own overuse and exploitation of his own planet.
