Credited as being a nearly perfect early depiction of teen angst and an equally exquisite showcase for James Dean's acting talents, Rebel Without a Cause tells the story of Jim Stark's (Dean) entry into a new community. Reckless from the start, Stark instantly intimidates the hot shots at the town's high school and forces these hot shots to test their own limits. This leads to some calimitous outcomes, which further Stark's outcast status. Throughout, Stark's parents wonder how their child has come to be the destructive suburban teen that has upturned this new town. Also, cute Judy (Natalie Wood) pines for Stark, and adorant Plato (Sal Mineo) befriends him.
