“King Solomon’s Mines” is the pulp adventure of guide, Allan Quartermain (Stewart Granger) who leads an expedition of archeologist and adventurers into the uncharted wilds of Africa, the heart of the dark continent. The purpose of traveling this deep is to locate Professor Henry Curtis husband to Elizabeth Curtis (Deborah Kerr) who has put this expedition together. Unknown to her, Henry is already dead. Elizabeth and her husband are no longer married at this point but she is searching for him cause she does care. Quartermain isn’t too happy about a woman being on the team yet one who has some authority. The two bicker like wild boars only to fall in love with one another. During the journey the expedition encounters creatures of all shapes and sizes and dangerous cannibal tribesmen.
