An unlikely trio of juvenile delinquents are recruited for an unusual police unit. Link (Omar Epps), Julie (Claire Danes), and Pete (Giovanni Ribisi) are to help ferret information about what appears to be a cop-run drug ring using their street smarts and ability to blend in to various seedy and youthful surroundings such as underground clubs. When Captain Adam Greer (Dennis Farina), the officer supervising them is set up and killed, there are few others remaining in the department who know of their mission. Those who do may be exactly the officers running the illicit operation who also want each of them dead, too.
