Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan) is a computer wizard working for Virtual Space Industries, while Jobe (Jeff Fahey) is his gardner, or his lawnmower man. Dr. Angelo is working on intelligence enhancement with chimpanzees that involves both drugs and virtual reality, but he would much prefer to just use his experimenting to increase intelligence among human subjects. Eventually he take Jobe under his experimenting as a perfect human subject suffering from mental retardation. Jobe becomes a very quick learner and embraces the changes in his mental capacity at an almost alarming rate, eventually even surpassing Dr. Angelo and becomes a threat to those around him. Will Dr. Angelo be able to stop Jobe's ascension to godhood?
